LET'S CHANGE THE NARRATIVE TOGETHER:
The somber statistics are well-known to us all.
Aren't we overdue for more uplifting dialogues concerning the emotional well-being of our veteran communities?
Be part of the solution – your contribution to the Flight For Life movie can help us share a more positive message.
Together, let's ignite inspiration through a narrative of triumph over despair, erasing the stigma surrounding mental health, and fostering positive transformation.
who we are and why we're making this film:
RELATABLE STORIES
Depicting the journey of overcoming suicidal ideation can offer hope and inspiration to others facing similar struggles. Through its storytelling and relatable characters, the film can provide a sense of solidarity, showing that healing and triumph are possible even in the darkest of times.
MENTORSHIP
Our team will collaborate with each veteran, devising a tailored set of goals and objectives that will enable them to advance in their craft during the course of the shoot. The outcome is the acquisition of significantly enhanced skills and experience that will be valuable for their future endeavors.
INSPIRING LOCATIONS
Cinematography propels the narrative by skillfully directing the camera's focus towards the main characters while also capturing the beauty of the mountains they must be rescued from. The awe-inspiring landscapes serve as a powerful storytelling tool, enhancing the overall beauty and inspiration of our film.
Inspire Change & Resilience
We seek to inspire hope and resilience for veterans and anyone facing mental health challenges, emphasizing the potential for healing and renewal. Flight For Life describes the journey of overcoming obstacles and finding strength.
DESTIGMATIZE MENTAL HEALTH
We aim to contribute to the ongoing conversation about mental health, particularly among veterans. By depicting their struggles and triumphs, this film seeks to increase understanding and reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
EMPLOY & TRAIN VETERANS
We are dedicated to involving veterans in the filmmaking process, both on-screen and behind the scenes, teaching valuable skills, fostering a sense of camaraderie, and highlighting the transformative impact of unity and support.
We're putting vets in front of and behind the camera.
A big part of the making of Flight for Life is to put wounded veterans to work on both sides of the camera, as both cast and crew, while telling a tale that the world is a better place with them in it.
Working on the set of a movie about veterans provides a unique environment and an empowering opportunity for veterans to learn a new craft and develop valuable skills in the filmmaking industry. Through hands-on experience and collaboration with professionals, they can gain confidence, find purpose, and build a sense of camaraderie in their journey of creative expression.
Our partner to meet the objective of mentorship is a Dallas-based organization which prepares veterans for careers in film and media production through education, mentorships, and job placements. Through our agreement with VIFM, we will be employing 4-8 wounded veterans behind the camera as our crew, putting them to work in various departments such as art, camera, grip, and production team and paying them real wages for real experience.
